Las Americas International Airport also known as José Francisco Peña Gómez was opened in 1959 as the official airport of Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic. It is located 22 kilometers to the east of the city.

This airport has the largest runway in the country, and one of the largest in the Caribbean, with a length of 11,000 feet. As one of the island’s major hubs and the main Dominican Republic airport, Las Americas has recently undergone significant renovations to improve service.

This airport has 6 gates on the main satellite concourse (A), A1 through A6, which have a shared use. Concourse B has 4 gates, B1 through B4, terminal B is the newest and most modern in the country. Also have a cargo area with 13 positions, hangars, Ambassadors and VIP Lounge, and one FBO managed by SERVAIR.
